The amazing thing is that the exhibition focussed on all aspects of nail art. 3-D acrylic nail art (above – so beautiful!) and nail art painted on like in the other post, jewels stuck onto nails and it gets even more complex!
A jacket accessorised by nails! Look at the shoulders and the seams and the nails hanging off the chain! Quite possibly one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.
One of the best parts about this collection was the willingness of nail artists and important people in the nail world to open their lives, their collections, their archives to Degree Art and exhibit their work. Some of these items haven’t been seen in decades, some has never been seen! One such artist is Sue Marsh, I’m going to close with a series of shots of her nail art. She has done everything from haute couture for Alexander McQueen to Jessie J. Magazine covers, fashion shows or just her personal collection, she picked her favourites and allowed them to be put on display. I couldn’t get over the artistry and talent. It’s just incredible!
